Abstract
- The article discusses a court case wherein Algonquin Indians of Barriere Lake, British Columbia attempt to assert their tradition of leadership selection. The Indians accuse the Canadian Minister of Indian Affairs and Northern Development of interfering with their customs regarding the leadership process. Their customs are codified in the document Mitchikanibikok Anishinabe Onakinakewin.
