Abstract

The article presents the decision of the Family Policy Compliance Office (FPCO) regarding the case of the student right violation through the plagiarism service of a university. FPCO has received an inquiry if the university who require the students to pass their papers in a plagiarism screening violated the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). FPCO ruled that the university has the right to employ the screening service to avoid piracy.
