Abstract
- The article focuses on a study which determined whether variation in the bitter-taste receptor gene, TAS2R38, is associated with adiposity in a genetically isolated population in Carlantino in southern Italy. The study participants were composed of 540 healthy individuals who were 15 to 89 years of age at the time of the study. Variables measured included body mass index (BMI) and waist circumference (WC) in females. A detailed discussion on the study findings is presented.
