Abstract

The article presents a study which examines the link of nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) in liver diseases. It states that there are five NF-κB transcription factors with significant roles in innate immunity, liver inflammation, fibrosis and apoptosis prevention. It notes that a link between inflammation and hepatocellular carcinoma through the NF-κB pathway has been observed for its tumor-promoting function, as well as a target for drug therapy. Results found that NF-κB has an inflammatory role in vivo setting.
