Abstract

The article focuses on the findings of a study concerning the development of the spiny lobster Jasus verreauxi which is commonly found off the east coast of Australia. The study identified that the length-based model used in annual stock assessments would be developed with more information about the species' growth patterns. The study also offered information on a growth model for the species by describing the results of tagging experiments from 1995 to 2001. Moreover, the study noted that the species is taken advantage for about four years before reaching sexual maturity and about three years after maturity.
