Abstract
- The dependence of the magnetoelectric coefficients (α<subscript>E</subscript>) in the Terfenol-D/Tb<subscript>2</subscript>(MoO<subscript>4</subscript>)<subscript>3</subscript> bilayer composite on the magnetic bias fields and the frequencies has been studied. The strain with butterfly loop of Tb<subscript>2</subscript>(MoO<subscript>4</subscript>)<subscript>3</subscript> under an external magnetic field was observed and the effect of ferroelasticity of the Tb<subscript>2</subscript>(MoO<subscript>4</subscript>)<subscript>3</subscript> on the magnetoelectric coupling was discussed. More than one peak of α<subscript>E</subscript> as function of frequency of ac magnetic field were observed and it implies existence of bending resonance mode besides the longitudinal resonance mode in the bilayer composite.
