Abstract

The article presents a research on a series loaded resonant converter-based power supply intended for pulsed power applications. It cites that an impulse power supply has been created, simulated, and tested to manage the primary of a high-frequency transformer. The research introduces a novel topological circuit of stable voltage source power converter utilizing the latest insulated gate bipolar transistors (IGBTs) (IRG4PH40PUD). It also indicates that a maximum power of 10 kilowatts decrease in this initial version to 5 kilowatts is the needed charging voltage of impulse power supply.
