Abstract
- The article discusses a study in Japan which examines the effect of anti-tick cocktail vaccine on Rhipicephalus appendiculatus in cattle model as well as tests the potency of three types of recombinant proteins, R. appendiculatus serpin-3 (RAS-3), R. appendiculatus serpin-4 (RAS-4) and a 36-kDa immuno-dominant protein of R. appendiculatus (RIM36), as antigens for anti-tick cocktail vaccine. The researchers noted the immune response of the cattles injected and the emergence of Theileria parva in female ticks. They stated that the cocktail vaccine effectively prevents tick infestation. Details of the test results are also presented.
