Abstract
- Focuses on the etymological derivation of the word chad. Statement that the word chad, which refers to the pieces of paper punched out of voting ballots, was nearly deemed obsolete enough to be deleted from the 'American Heritage Dictionary'; Possibility that the term stems from the so-called Chadless paper punch, which was named after its inventor.
