Abstract
- The article discusses the highlights of the 2009 North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Summit, which dealt with missile defense activities. According to German defense minister Franz Josef Young, arms control and disarmament constitute a concern that the alliance's strategic concept needs to address. The summit had been regarded as a key venue in which to urge members to embrace the concept of continental defense. France is also stepping up its interest in missile defense.
