Abstract
- The article offers information on an alternative technique in prosthodontics for making customized dental restorations with the new visible light cured (VLC) resin technology. Currently, Triad VLC resin is manufactured in four shades. The VLC resin restoration is adjusted over the abutment tooth preparations, while the necessary internal relief is made for restoration in centric occlusion. It is informed that the Triad VLC resin material is like light cured composite resins, but uses an organic filler. The filler consists of acrylic resin beads of varying sizes. Some of the advantages of VLC resins over other acrylic resins include, its accuracy of fit due to low polymerization shrinkage, low bacterial adherence, and nontoxicity and biocompatibility.
