The article discusses the results of a survey of community nurses in Ireland regarding their practices for leg ulcer management. The fact that almost three-fourths of venous leg ulcer patients in the Republic of Ireland are managed by public health nurses (PHNs) is noted, mentioning that a survey of the existing knowledge of PHNs regarding venous leg ulceration was necessary in order to develop education strategies for PHNs.
