The article presents an assessment of tax policy risk in Algeria in 2006. It is noted that discriminatory taxes are unlikely to be brought back under any of the possible alternative governments. The government has also extended tax incentives for overseas companies. Complaints have been raised by foreign companies against the existing tax system, which is considered unwieldy and opaque.
