Abstract

The article reports on the use of animal research relative to medicine in the U.S. It states that experimentation on animal is conducted to offer new solutions to medical ranging from HIV/AIDS to Alzheimer's disease. It discusses that animals are also used in testing several treatments and advances in medicine, including development and refinement of vaccines, computed tomography scan, among others. It also presents the policy guidelines on the humane and responsible use and care of animals in research for the "Journal of Emergencies, Trauma and Shocks."
