Abstract

This article examines aspects of the health care systems of European countries including Denmark, Germany, and France as a means of suggesting effective changes to American health care policy that could be implemented by the administration of U.S. President Barack Obama. Topics discussed include the computerization of medical records in Denmark, chronic disease-management programs in Germany, and the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) in Great Britain.
