Abstract
- Presents literary criticism for the novel "Drowning in Fire" by Craig Womack, particularly how Womack structures a Creek/Muskogee identity in the book and how that identity is in constant flux. The author also uses Womack's book "Red on Red: Native American Literary Separatism," which also deals with identity. The novel is set in Oklahoma, which is where that group was relocated to because of the U.S. Indian Removal Act, so place is an important element in the novel.
