Abstract

The article discusses the highlights of a panel chaired by Gerald Fogel which took place at the Winter Meeting of the American Psychoanalytic Association (APA) in New York on January 21, 2007, in which the question of what second analyses can tell psychoanalysts about analytic process was addressed. Among the panelists are Dominique Scarfone, Theodore Jacobs and Maxine Anderson. It notes that a third perspective on the issues of countertransference and narcissistic vulnerability in analysts and analysand was offered in the paper of Anderson.
