Abstract

The article focuses on a three-year longitudinal study which documents children's views on healthy eating and consequences of consuming unhealthy foods in South India. The study recruited 307 school children aged 7 to 15 years from three schools representing various socio-economic status (SES) for purposive sampling. It found that older children, with mothers having higher educational levels, viewed the meaning of healthy eating based on diet composition.
