Abstract

The article discusses the history of national symbols and emblems in Poland during the era of communism following World War II. The author reflects on the restoration of the national symbol decreed by an act of parliament following the political transition to post-communism. The history of Poland's coat of arms is explored including the alignment of national colors white and red and the proportions of the flag. Other topics include legislative terminology, official flags, and restoration of the crown.
