Abstract

The article explores the need for new institutional approaches and theories on feminism. It argues that new theories and tools will help feminist scholars address key issues on power, gender and change. It discusses gendered approach and how its understandings have moved feminist research from individual to institutional levels of analysis. It also states that feminist political science is concerned with transforming power inequalities while changing the institution's dynamic process, therefore opening up possible dialogues with feminist political science. The author inquires feminist institutionalism as a promising approach for gender and institution studies.
