Abstract

The article presents information on Borneo, an island in Southeast Asia. Swedish photographer Mattias Klum went there in 1989 and found lush rain forests, soggy swamps, and rocky mountains on the island. It is described as one of the most biodiverse places on Earth with nearly 1,500 kinds of animals not including insects. About 15,000 types of plants grow there and every year scientists find about 30 new plants and animals on Borneo.
