Abstract

The article presents a study which examines the risk of mortality and morbidity and the prevalence of diabetes mellitus (DM) in childhood cancer survivors and their siblings. It states that the study employs 8,599 survivors in the Childhood Cancer Survivor Study (CCSS) to determine their body mass index, household income, and total body irradiation. Moreover, the study concludes that the risk of diabetes is unrelated to physical inactivity or body mass index.
