Challenges of Implementing New Remineralization Technologies.

The article presents an analysis of methods for remineralizing dental enamel and preventing dental caries, and some of the challenges faced in bringing these techniques to the level of commercially viable products. The use of fluoride is said to be the standard in terms of its efficacy and acceptance. The regulatory requirements of the American Dental Association and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration are discussed. Challenges posed by formulation requirements, data handling and statistics documentation are also analyzed.
