Abstract

The article emphasizes that a few analysts including Mitsubishi UFJ Securities Co. economist Nobuyuki Saji had predicted in 2008 that the economy of Japan will be facing a crisis. Saji cites his disapproval of the general perspective that the economy will have the least impact from the subprime crisis in the U.S. The decline in demand for exports resulted to reduced rate of the real gross domestic product of Japan in the fourth quarter. The attempt of the Japanese government to boost the economy is said to have been unsuccessful.
