Abstract
- The article discusses what contemporary studies on U.S. President Abraham Lincoln reveal about him as a politician before and during the U.S. Civil War. The author evaluates the essay "Lincoln 2.0," by Matthew Pinsker, published within the issue, and also mentions the book "American Brutus," by Michael W. Kauffman. Subjects of the article also include the digital reproduction of manuscript collections, Lincoln's first speech when he became president, and his involvement with the Young Indians, a group of Whigs.
