Abstract

The article reports on phishing in the U.S. Phishing are scams where counterfeit materials are sent to gain personal information from victims. The chat windows banks use through their Web sites in order to provide immediate customer service have been taken over by phishers according to RSA Security. With this scam the phisher sets up a fraudulent Web site that operates as a man-in-the-middle between the consumer and the bank and intercepts personal information.
