Abstract

The article presents a study which discusses the way that runners accelerate their speed and examines the joint structure influences that are essential for movement. It mentions that the tendon lever arm were measured using an indirect technique called tendon excursion method which measures the rotation of the joint through an ultrasound scanner. It affirms that lead sprinters generate a high propulsive ground reaction force that enables them to accelerate faster and reach top speeds more quickly. The authors affirm that as one grow older, their mobility level tends to decrease.
