Abstract

The article reports on the increase in sales of bread and dough products in the U.S. Information Resources Inc.'s data reveals that sales of frozen fresh-basked breads, rolls and biscuits increased by 3.1% or $22.3 million because of the value-added benefits provided by such products. Bridgford Foods senior vice president for frozen division Dan Yost notes that consumers are already budget-minded and looks for less expensive food alternatives.
