Abstract
- The article presents a study concentrating on the frequency of extreme rainfall events in Southern Brazil. It highlights two vital areas relating to the impact of El Niño (EN) to the frequency such as the recorded extreme events during EN and decrease during La Niña. Principal Component Analysis has disclosed the most recurrent precipitation patterns during extreme rainfall events.
