Abstract
- The article discusses a study on the techniques of the calibration of a C-band digital weather radar using the information from raingauges in order to recreate the rainfall fields during a rain enhancement project in Southern Italy. It provides a comparison between a spatial model proposed in a study by P. Brown et al. and a kriging approach that involves external drift rainfall field prediction. The authors state the application of the kernel density estimation (KDE) method to the recreation of rainfall fields.
