Institutional Contributions to Scholarly Journals of Business.

The article compares the contributions of various business schools in the United States to leading scholarly journals of business based on the averages of institutional rankings across the principal functional areas from the periods 1961 to 1965 and 1966-1971. In order to have an overview of the total scholarly contributions of the top business schools, the simple averages of their rank orders in the fields of accounting, finance, marketing, management science and operations research, and personnel management and administrative science were computed. The various schools were then listed in ascending order based on their average ranking over the five fields.
