Politics: Is there a future for trade unions?

The article examines the prospects for trade-unions in the twenty-first century. It looks at the reduction of the influence of industrial trade unions trying to survive in the capitalist sector, the impact of globalization on the unions' political influence, and the emergence of an ideological cap in twentieth-century trade unionism.
