Abstract

A conference paper about the latest developments on membrane technology for the treatment of drinking water is presented. It states that water undergoes treatment processes including sand filtration, carbon filtration or ozonation, when water does not meet the stringent requirements of food legislation. It mentions that membrane technology can make water be mechanically purified and disinfected, and thus, could lead to the reduction of chemical additives such as chlorine or ozone in the water.
