Abstract
- The article discusses the unpredictability of severe rainfall events during the southwest monsoon season in India. The study covers the daily rainfall data during the monsoon season covering the period 1951 to 2005. The article also includes spatial distribution of extreme rainfall events, association of frequency of synoptic scale systems with extreme rainfall events, and interannual variability of composite anomalies and extreme rainfall events.
