Abstract
- The article presents a comparison between pulp and paper conservation bleaching. The pulp is a homogeneous mass of fibers having the same colors, while discoloration is distributed inhomogeneously with paper. It mentions that in pulp bleaching, the bleach is to be forced into the pulp for it to gain even distribution, while the selectivity of bleaching treatment is needed for paper bleaching. It states that pulp and paper share some bleaching agents including hypochlorites and chlorine dioxide.
