Abstract

The article presents a study that investigates the osteoarthritis (OA) susceptibility locus on chromosome 7q22 by a genome-wide association study. It mentions that the study examined 500,510 single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the Dutch Caucasian controls and OA cases. The results show that the C allele of rs3815148 on chromosome 7q22 was identified as the osteoarthritis susceptibility locus and is linked with the progression and increase risk of hand and knee OA.
