Abstract: The article presents a study which proposes a simple method for the microprocessor implementation of Selective Harmonic Elimination (SHE) pulse width modulation (PWM) based on curve fitting and conventional Newton iteration technique. Under the proposed online control technique, the SHE inverter output has 12 switching instants that eliminate 3rd to 23rd harmonics from the inverter. It demonstrates the application of the method on 1ph, 230V, 5kVA IGBT based voltage source inverter (VSI).
