Abstract
- The article presents a study which discusses the discovery of the fourth species of Anax known as Anax indicus Lieftinck at the Khasala Dam in the district of Rawalpindi, Pakistan on July 14, 2006. It states that this species was identified through comparing its descriptions with Lieftinck and the comparison of the photograph of the A. indicus with the material of the similar A. guttatus. According to the authors, this species usually procreates in standing waters, therefore it affirms the existence of this species at the Khasal Dam. It is believed that this species is the key to all Anax species in the country. Physical descriptions of the species are also provided.
