Abstract

This paper discusses the outlook for increased productivity in Chinese industrial enterprises. Specifically, it seeks to examine three topics relating to performance. These include an assessment of: (1) the factors that affect performance; (2) the Sichuan Experiments; and (3) the potential problems that could adversely affect the prospects for increased productivity.
