- Investigates the quench performance of model magnets for the Large Hadron Collider inner triplet quadrupoles at the Fermilab in Batavia, Illinois. Refining of mechanical and magnetic design; Optimization of fabrication and assembly tooling; Quench tests for several thermal cycles; Excitation current ramp rate; Temperature dependence studies; Ramp rate sensitivity.
