Abstract
- The article presents a study on the characteristics of various supporting materials and optimum irrigation frequency for supporting materials in the nutrient-circulated micropropagation system used for potato plantlets. Structure and porosity are among the physical properties examined. The key role of structural characteristics of the supporting materials in determining the porosity ratio is noted. It is concluded that the supporting material and nutrient supply cycle are important environmental factors to control water content of root-zone.
