Abstract

This article seeks to highlight the role played by a country's colonial past in the development of the popular imagination in Brazil and Benin. This pinpointing of the cases of two countries that share a common history allows the genealogy and natural development of modern-day means of heritage portrayal commemorating the Slave Trade to be viewed in an new light.
