Abstract
- The article evaluates a normative model for deductible collision insurance selection. The purchase of collision insurance for private passenger vehicles includes the provision for deductible in the policy. An exercise of free choice by vehicle owners reflects a preference for avoiding the risk of loss through collision damage. The individual seeks to avert the risk of substantial collision loss by the purchase of deductible collision insurance. The author mentioned that it is clear that a large percentage of owners pay an additional price for collision coverage by selecting deductibles with a higher total expected cost than the optimal deductible choice.
