Abstract

The author presents comments on papers by economists Robert H. Rasche and Leonall Andersen. The author expresses criticism towards both Rasche and Andersen. One of the author's main concerns with the research is the focus of the FRB-MIT-Penn econometric model used to study the United States economy during the period of 1966-1970. It is suggested that too much attention is made to how the FRB-MIT-Penn econometric model behaved during the period, instead of accounting for other economic activities occurring during the period. The author expresses less criticism towards Andersen's research, but does note that there are several problems with it.
