Abstract

The article presents an examination of Canada's Ukrainian population as well as the total Slavonic population based on census records from 2001. The article takes an historic examination of the Ukrainian population which accounts for the majority of the Slavonic population and explores issues related to Ukrainian immigration. It compares Canada's Ukrainian, Polish and Russian populations and explores immigration during the inter-war period as well as the post-war period following World War II. It also discusses how the Cold War affected Canada's Slavonic population.
