Abstract

The article offers information on a cross-national comparison of stability and punctuations in public spending between Denmark and the U.S. It cites the comparison between spending categories to reveal the changes within national budgets. It focuses on the budget functions level and on the comparison of stability patterns and changes in public spending. It mentions the matching of budget functions and subfunctions of the two countries using the description provided by Policy Agendas Project of U.S. and Statistics Denmark. It mentions that both Denmark and U.S. public spending changes have similar patterns of stability occasionally interrupted by large-scale changes. It also founds out that the spending categories on agriculture, Medicare and health of both countries produce similar scores.
