Abstract
- The article offers suggestions on how to prevent a five- to six-year-old child from developing the habit of talking back. First, it points out the importance of lowering one's voice when reacting to a kid's outbursts, rude retorts or all-around sass. It explains that children at such age get frustrated and angry because they do not know how to handle their emotions or may have picked up the behavior from school. It is also important for a parent not to fall into a bait for an argument when a child bursts out his accusations.
