Abstract

The article discusses broadcasting and the political relation of unemployment in Great Britain from 1930-1935. It offers an account of contributions by radio broadcast towards the examination of such social problem in the country. It mentions the radio programs "S.O.S." and "Time to Spare" which introduced new methods of presenting social problems. It also notes that both programs drew sharp reactions with the aim of mitigating the consequences of unemployment in the nation.
