Abstract

The article examines the historical development of the Socialist Workers Party (SWP) and "Socialist Worker" newspaper in Great Britain. It states that while the newspaper has failed to realize its goal to reach a mass readership within the working class, it became an influential publication. It adds that its strong attachment to Leninist principles has provided them the flexibility to the changing environment from the early 1960s to the current period of recession and mass unemployment.
