The article provides an overview of various risks facing foreign operations in Pakistan as of August 27, 2010. The country has a high overall risk and its stability in 2010-2011 is being threatened by security concerns. Sources of threats include sectarian violence, extremist Islamist influences, bombings, and a civilian government saddled with inter-party tensions and fractured coalition. Aside from a low political stability risk rating, Pakistan also has a very high infrastructure risk, a relatively low labour market risk, and a moderate tax policy.
